hectic

I apologize for not posting sooner! I've been so busy what with being pelted with an exam, coursework deadlines and a gig, as well as homework for my other subjects! Anyway, the other day I decided that I'd buy John Green's new book, 'The Fault In Our Stars'. I'm a huge fan of 'Looking For Alaska' by him, and I intend to read all the other books that he's written, however this TFiOS came out on the 12th(I believe that's when it was anyway!) and I hadn't got it on pre-order, which was a bit annoying(because all pre-ordered copies were signed), but it's my own fault anyway..YES! So, on Wednesday, I normally go into town after college and I decided that I'd just pop into the book shop to see if they had it there, which they did, which was great, but this is the part where I freaked out in the middle of the shop at my friend...THEY HAD SIGNED COPIES.
So yeah, now I own a signed copy of 'The Fault In Our Stars' and can I just say, although I haven't finished it yet, it's such a great book. I'd love to tell you what it's about, but you know, I'd much rather you'd read it for yourself because it's honestly so fantastic and adsnbajsdk.

On Friday, I went to see Never Shout Never for the second time, on their first headlining tour ever in the UK, and it was great. There were a few little annoying 'weems' in the crowd that were really irritating because they kept pushing my friend and saying stuff about her, which was stupid. But the gig was really fab and it was nice to go and see them again. The thing that topped off the night was the fact that we were running round the back to meet them, but just as we were running to the back, the band came out of the side doors and said something to us, and I nearly had a heart attack, but it was fine. But then they went back inside before we could get pictures, so yeah. Then we waited, and then they came out, but the lead singer went back inside before we could get pictures, but we got pictures with the guitarist and the keyboardist(?) and had conversations with the guitarist for like, 15 minutes.

I realize that thing whole post is a bit jumbled, but I just wanted to update the blog. Next time I'll hopefully have pictures to update with and a proper post lined up!

That's it for now, folks!

Another Day Will Come..

Apologies for not blogging sooner! I haven't really done anything this weekend apart from work and revise for a Sociology AS-level exam I have coming up on Thursday! On Wednesday or Thursday I bought a new camera lens for my 550D! It came earlier today, and I've taken a few test shots(which can be found here) with it. I'm very happy with it, and it's the first lens that I've added to my collection! Well, my collection of one lens(which was the kit lens!).

Also, I'm still not finished with the Nylon Magazine I bought on Wednesday, and I've just found out that there's a new vogue issue out or something like that? If there is, then I must buy it! It looks like a great issue.

Anyway, that's all from me folks!

Side Note: I might start posting moodboards(I think that's the name?) or posting pictures of things I find inspiring as I need to rack up some ideas for my Mock Final Project for Photography!

Explosions in the Sky

No Picture Thursday! :( I feel like I've let the team down, but never mind!

College Teachers annoy me sometimes. They're being paid to teach us, correct? But today when asking about my coursework which contributes to my final grade at the end of this year, I don't get any help. I don't exactly think that's right. I understand that my English Teacher wanted to leave as soon as possible, but surely sticking around for a Student to make sure that they're final draft is correct and ready is what they should be doing? I'm more annoyed about the fact that my teacher didn't ask another teacher if it was alright that I come and see them so they could check over my work once I'd printed it off later that day. I just needed someone to say that it was ok.

Anyway, please excuse the 'rant' above(if you can even call it that). Teachers, eh?

But yes, I've literally done hardly anything that's been productive since I got home. I checked out a few of my favourite blogs, logged on twitter and facebook, and that's about it! I don't know if it's just me, but have you got the sudden flood of statuses and tweets that involve one thing; Celebrity Big Brother. I am not looking forward to the next few weeks when it's on!

Also, last night I bought a new lens for Alan the Canon! I bought the 'Nifty Fifty'(50mm f/1.8) from Amazon for a little over £84(price varies though!). Hopefully I'll have it by Monday, but I can't wait to use it! It'll be so much fun!

Well, that's just a quick update! Have a nice evening!

All you need is Love

Evening Chums!

My first day back at college wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It was strangely easy to fall back into the timetabled routine that College holds. I wasn't ready, I'll admit. I put off my homework at last minute, including English Language coursework which I am going to finish straight after I've put up this blog post(so I guess by the time you read this, I'll be doing it), but it was kind of nice to go back. Weirdly, I kind of like college. Not the big work load, but I like having something to do rather than sitting inside all day staring at my laptop screen trying to find something productive to do with my life and failing.

Anyway! I don't know if you guys have ever bought or even heard of Nylon Magazine, but I've been wanting to buy a copy for ages, however I stopped myself after seeing the price of it over here which is £4.50, however I had some spare cash on me and finally caved and bought it whilst buying two notebooks for college! I haven't read it yet as I decided that I could read it after my homework for the night is done, but I just flicked through it and landed on a few of the pages above and decided that I'd take a few photographs of it! I've never really listened to the Beatles that much(I know, I know, you're probably thinking I'm crazy) but after seeing a few of the pages that involve the Beatles, I've had an urge to listen to them, and even though I haven't listened to them yet, I have the lyrics 'All you need is looove, love!' going round and round in my head.

So on that note, I better take off and go listen to the Beatles and do my homework!

Tuesday 3 January 2012

my eyes they open wider. the noise, the noise.

Today has been a typical lazy day as I go back to College tomorrow. All day I've been panicking about my the work and revision that I should have done over the past 2 weeks but haven't, which was a really stupid move, however I remembered earlier today that it's not too bad because I only have two lessons on a Wednesday anyway!

I took these pictures out of my window between 3:30pm and 4pm. In just half and hour the setting and colours in the sky had changed, and I find that so fascinating. I think that after doing my final Art GCSE project last year on nature really helped me to discover a new found love for it. Literally all I want to do is go outside, find a small forest and just get lost in it, which may sound a bit cliche, but whatever. It's something I would really love to do one day.

Tomorrow I have college, which I'm not really looking forward to that much, but never mind! I'll get over it soon. I really need some new clothes, so hopefully I'll be able to score some bargains tomorrow after college. Every Wednesday our college finishes at 2:20pm as opposed to the normal time it finishes(4:10pm) which means that I get to walk into town every week. I have to say, being able to go into town every week really takes the thrill out of shopping. It's more of a chore to go into town rather than something that I enjoy. But alas, if I didn't go into town every week, I'd have nothing to do as I can't get a bus home!

I hope you have a lovely evening!

New Years Resolutions

I don't remember setting any resolutions for last year, however this year, I decided that I'd like to make some resolutions and keep to them! So here are mine!

  • Take more pictures
  • Buy a new lens for my camera
  • Buy a Film Camera & disposables that can be taken everywhere
  • Make a pact to blog often
  • Learn the basics of HTML
  • Set up Work Experience in the Summer regarding Photography and Journalism
  • Venture out into the world more
  • Save money
  • Use Journal
  • Improve attitude
  • Pass all exams(including Theory & Driving Test)
  • Study
  • Stop eating junk and eat healthier foods
  • Keep room tidy
These are my Resolutions! I think this year is really about changes for me. Changes towards becoming a healthier, better person. It also entails really reaching for my dreams of becoming a Photographer or Journalist!

What are your New Years Resolutions?

That's MAC, OPI and a Fragrance too.

This Christmas I received lots of goodies which include; two pairs of boots, lots of chocolate, jewellery, make-up, money, CD's and a few other bits and bobs!

Above the MAC 'Beauty Power' I received from one of my friends. When I opened it, I was so shocked, because not only is this 'Venomous Villains' collection no longer running, MAC make up is also quite expensive. I love MAC but I've never been able to buy anything because it's all just so pricey. I very nearly did cave once to buy the cheapest thing they had which was something like £12 or £16, but I didn't. I've only worn this once, but I already love it. I only used a light sprinkle of it and instead of using the thingy-ma-jiggy that comes with it, I used a brush. I'm not really one that wears loads of make-up. I normally just wear blush, eye shadow, pencil liner on my bottom lid, and lip gloss(if i remember to put some on!) but I'll definitely start wearing this. I also really like the design of the box that it came in and the little 'jar'. It's so cute!

The bottom picture is of a journal I got from my Auntie, Uncle and two cousins! The design on it is so pretty, and the pages are coloured in purple, blue and green! It's made by 'Lila Grace' which I have tried to find on the internet to see what other patterned journals there are, but I can't find them anywhere! I think that I'm going to use my journal to write down/draw/stick down anything that inspires me.

I hope you're all having a nice day!

(New Years Resolutions post coming soon!)

Sunday 1 January 2012

Hello 2012!

(White Chocolate Orange)
(Inside of the White Chocolate Orange - it has little things in it that are crunchy!)<

(My Mumma's Christmas Cake! - So good!)

Last night my Grandparents came round to our house to see the New Year in with us! We watched Alan Carr and then went on to watch the fireworks in London at midnight(on the TV of course!). The fireworks in London this year were spectacular! I think they were actually the best they've had! We had loads of little 'nibbles' as well. I kind of maybe had nearly half a tube of Ready Salted Pringles, but whatever! They're so tasty, however I think it may have done something to the corner of my lips, because it stings now. D:

This morning I watched Home Alone for the first time! I really enjoyed it, and apparently there is more than one, so I'm going to find the others and watch them! I also opened the White Chocolate Orange I was given for Christmas. I didn't even know they existed! It was really yummy!

Anyway, later this afternoon we're going over to my Grandparents house for Christmas Part 2, because on Christmas Day, my cousin was ill so my Aunt, Uncle and two cousins weren't able to come over! So that'll be nice!

I hope you all enjoyed New Years Eve. My Facebook newsfeed is full of statuses and pictures from last night, and this morning with people saying how they're 'hanging'. I'll leave you with a song that I heard last night whilst watching the fireworks in Sydney on youtube!
